"When we talk about people, the answer is usually that they are the most important asset of the business; however, I believe that they are the only asset", were the words with which Juan Carlos Pérez Espinosa, Global President of the association of Human Capital Managers and CEO of Facthum, began the discussion paper: "My experience managing people", at the Master's Degree in Personnel Management Service in Organizations of the University of Navarra.

The executive has a broad and structured vision of the current challenges and changes of Personnel Management Service thanks to the fact that his position allows him to learn from the experience of different executives around the world. Therefore, his discussion paper focused on three main axes that are determining the future of area: the core topic of transformation and management of change, the cycle of the management of talent, and the relationship between employees.

First of all, the president of DCH affirmed that human resources teams must be the axis and managers of change in organizations. He stressed the importance of preparing future professionals at Personnel Management Service to be open to change and, as he said, not to let "success reduce the capacity Genetics for change and evolution".

He also emphasized that one of the tools that human capital managers will have to rely on for change is the cycle of employee. This can no longer be a traditional, linear cycle, but a circular one. In other words, one that promotes the attraction and integration of talent, and where disengagement is not the end of the cycle, but where organizations are able to maintain contact with their best talent. According to the executive, talent is currently scarce and employees are the ones who choose employers, so it is core topic that companies know their employees and aim to be a company with purpose where professionals can return.

The last topic discussed by the executive was the role of the human resources area as a facilitator so that people know how to manage better, and the relationships between employees are enhanced. In this sense, it is necessary to have updated and innovative tools, models and methodologies that respond to the needs of people within companies. According to Pérez Espinosa, this is currently one of the main challenges generated by remote teams, which are not easy to manage, as it implies learning new skills and avoiding dehumanizing business. For these reasons, the organization must generate collaborative and attractive spaces that allow maintaining a meaningful hybrid model .

In conclusion, the three axes of discussion paper are a consequence and cause of each other. There are currently many challenges within organizations, from management to Personnel Management Service of a business. Therefore, "it is important to bring out the best in people, to believe in their ability to learn and in the potential they can develop".
