Can AI help to assess our personality and competences?

With "Strong Evidence on Soft Skills" , Heckman (Nobel Prize winner Economics in 2000) and Kautz demonstrated that personality traits predict and cause outcomes. Research has shown that personality is a critical factor for life development and that non-cognitive competencies are as important as cognitive skills or technical knowledge . 

Research has shown relationships between personality factors and individual innovation. Since 2011, data has been available to test these relationships at the nation-state level.

The objective and accurate assessment of personality and socio-emotional competences is an aspiration and a necessity for professionals in recruitment staff, development, research, counselling, educational, occupational and psychological intervention .....

The latest advances in linguistic psychology have made it possible to predict personality from textual information using the novel approach open vocabulary. This approach , together with the speed and precision of analysis of artificial intelligence, has made what for some might seem like magic, today is applied science at the service of the human development . From a text in colloquial language of 1000 words of the person to be analysed, 47 parameters can be measured and compared with an extensive worldwide database , in a simple, immediate and reliable way.

In Spain, there are already innovative educational centres that are relying on these technologies to individualise the assessment and the development of students, assessing personality and SEL competences (partner emotional), as proposed by the OECD for its international study from 2023 onwards.

Recently, as the first result of an ambitious project of research and development with these centres, Analizza.me has been launched, an assistant that uses Watson AI to perform immediate analyses of personality, preferences, values and socio-emotional competencies based on texts in a person's natural language, avoiding self-perception bias.

This platform offers the possibility of reading a fictitiousreport where, after entering a text of 1000 words, all the possible variables analysed are shown compared with a global sample . Analizza.me also offers a step-by-step tutorial on how to use the platform to manage projects and participants.

Therefore, and in answer to the question in the title of this article, yes, artificial intelligence is of great help to us financial aid in assessing a person's personality and competencies, from agreement to a code of ethical conduct that must be respected.
