More than 70 researchers, academics and professionals have gathered at the University of Navarra to address the application of the science of data and artificial intelligence to various sectors such as health, Economics and banking, sustainability, energy efficiency, mobility or social sciences. The high school of Science of the data and Artificial Intelligence - DATAI has hosted in the campus of Pamplona the VI edition of the congress National Young Scientist in design of Experiments and Science of data (JEDE 6).

The meeting promotes the exchange of knowledge and innovation among researchers and professionals from various fields. The opportunities presented by artificial intelligence and the optimization of data experiments are the two nuclear issues. "The main goal of this meeting is to put on the table the latest advances in design of experiments and application of AI to various fields, through young researchers," explained DADAI's director , Jesús López-Fidalgo.

The first workshop of the congress was chaired by the Vice President of research and Sustainability of the University of Navarra, Paloma Grau and counted with the attendance of the Councilor of Universities and Economics of the Government of Navarra, Juan Cruz Cigudosa; the General Director of University, Ana Burusco; the Councilor for Business development , Mikel Irujo; the Councilor for Justice, Eduardo Santos; the Mayor of the City of Pamplona, Enrique Maya; and the General Manager of the Artificial Intelligence Center of Navarra, Gorka García Rodero.

Algorithms applied to the research pharmaceutical

The program features different activities in collaborative format, in addition to a plenary lecture each day. The opening session was held at position by Professor Valerii V. Fedorov, consultant specializing in methods of design optimal research applied to pharmaceuticals in the USA. His study has led to significant savings in time and other resources for the pharmaceutical industry, while also highlighting important issues in medical ethics. "Often, the initial enthusiasm for the mathematical efficiency of optimal designs quickly evaporates in the first conversation between a statistician and the medical team, as conflicting intentions emerge between the priority of getting more information and the priority of providing better treatment to people participating in clinical trials," said Fedorov.

Hugo Maruri-Aguilar, Professor of Statistics at Queen Mary University of London, gave the plenary session on the analysis of complex experiments. lecture And the third position was given by Mª Ángeles Gil Álvarez, Professor of Statistics and research Operational Statistics at the University of Oviedo, with her lecture entitled "Analysis of imprecisely scaled questionnaires" with an application to questionnaires for children.
