The scientific journal 'Journal of Hepatology' dedicates its publishing house to Dr. Jesús Prieto.
The director of the area of Gene Therapy and Hepatology of the CIMA of the University of Navarra received in April the recognition of the association European for the Study of the Liver.
The scientific journal Journal of Hepatology dedicates the September issue of its publishing house of its September issue to Dr. Jesús Prieto, director of the area of Gene Therapy and Hepatology of the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra. It is the second best international journal in the specialization program of Hepatology,
The publishing house of the Journal of Hepatology makes accredited specialization to the recognition he received last April from the association European Liver Society "for his research and care career in the field of hepatology". The author, Mario Strazzabosco, emphasizes that "Prof. Prieto is a visionary academic leader. His scientific approach is always novel and he is never afraid of new challenges. His scientific achievements include pioneering the use of gene therapy for the treatment and prevention of liver diseases".
40 years of assistance, professor and research workgraduate and MD from the University of Valladolid, Dr. Prieto is a specialist at department of Internal Medicine and the Hepatology Unit of the Clinic. He is also coordinator of the research center Biomedica en network of Liver and Digestive Diseases (CIBER-EHD).
He has been Full Professor of General Pathology at the University of Santiago de Compostela and since 1979 he is Full Professor of the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra. She is honorary doctor by the University of Oporto and by the Austral University (Argentina). He has received numerous awards, including the "Cándida Medrano de Merlo" and the "Gran award Bial" for his contributions on gene therapy in liver cancer.
