Last Saturday took place the annual meeting of alumni. More than 1,200 alumni returned to the classroom and reunited with their classmates from their university days. The event was attended by graduates from Schools of Science, Communication, Law, Economics, Education and Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Philosophy and Letters, Medicine and School of Architecture.
The workshop started at Schools, which had prepared special programs. The alumni met with their former professors, visited the classrooms where they taught class and got to know the new facilities and projects of their Schools.
At the end of the morning, they all went to a central event at the Museum where the 70th anniversary of the University was commemorated. The event began with a colloquium in which Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero (COM'84), Berta Lasheras (FAR'72), Gonzalo del Prado (COM'97) and Sandra Camós (DER'97) took part. The speakers, moderated by Eva Lus (COM'06), chatted in a relaxed manner about the relationship between the University and its alumni, and how the partnership between the two can lead to mutual strengthening. Afterwards, the alumni teams took a fun quiz on university popular culture. In first place, the Communication team won, in 2nd place was Education and Psychology and in 3rd place Law.
At the event, the President also addressed the alumni with a message of thanks for the support they give us and encouraged them to remain close to their alma mater. The president of Alumni, Inés García Paine, also wanted to take the opportunity to thank the University for its support to alumni and to convey her entire disposition and that of the Territorial Associations.
