The University announces the VII International Competition of PFC Chair Madera
The registration must be completed by March 8, 2019.
The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and the Chair Madera announce the 7th Edition of the PFC Competition Chair Wood. The competition will award the project Fin de degree program (PFC) that highlights the use of wood and aspects of sustainability in an architectural project .
This international competition is aimed at all those who have submitted their PFC (or equivalent work ) in any School of Architecture officially recognized in the home country country between September 2015 and February 2019 and have been considered eligible for the degree scroll. Exceptionally, projects that are still pending grade may be submitted to the competition as long as they attach a letter from the tutor showing their conformity. Projects in English and Spanish will be accepted.
Candidates interested in applying for the competition must formalize the registration free of charge before March 8, 2019 through the website. The deadline to send online the documentation is March 13, 2019.
The scholarship covers 100% of the enrollment in the Master's Degree in design and management Environmental Building or Master's Degree in Architectural Theory and design .
Two professors from the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, together with representatives of the Chair Madera and a prestigious architect will meet during the month of March 2019 to analyze the proposals submitted and rule the award.
The following criteria will be valued: the use of wood as the main structural material, the creative and innovative use of wood in the design, the appropriate response to basic functional and architectural criteria, architectural coherence, and sustainability and environmental criteria. The 2018 edition of the competition was won by Violeta Sánchez Sánchez of the University of Málaga (Spain) with the project "Vivero".
