#OpenSchool -the virtual training space through which the University of Navarra's School of Architecture of the University of Navarra offers different courses, conferences, workshops, etc. since last May and during the coming summer - hosts on Wednesday, June 17, a talk with the architecture critic of the newspaper ABC Fredy Massad.

The lecture, which registration is open, will take place at 7 p.m. via Meet and the theme will focus on the main challenges that architecture students will have to face in the post-covid era.

The critic and expert thus advances the 5 pieces of advice he would give to students to "overcome" the difficulties that may arise from the coronavirus crisis in the field of Architecture: "First, cultivate a critical spirit: independent thinking that is capable of respecting and questioning the ideas of others; second, understand reality in a complex and open way: this will translate into a broad and complex look at Architecture; third, focus on essential and primary issues of reality: avoid grandiloquence and excessive subjectivity; fourth, be wary of gurus and mythologized figures: never take anything automatically as dogma; and, as the 5th and last committee, remember that learning is constant: you never stop learning."

In addition to his facet as an architecture critic for the ABC newspaper, Massad is a professor at the School of Architecture - UIC in Barcelona and visiting professor of the FADU - University of Buenos Aires. His most recent books include La viga en el ojo ( 2015) and Crítica de choque ( 2018). His talk at #EscuelaAbierta is result of the partnership between the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Belgrano (Argentina), of which he is a professor.
