More than four decades after arriving at the University, Jaime Nubiola, Full Professor of Philosophy, has said goodbye to his classrooms. Professor Nubiola gave his last lecture class on April 20, surrounded by numerous students, professors, other professionals, and even by alumni who connected remotely.

After expressing his gratitude "to God, to his colleagues, to the students from whom I have learned so much and to the University", Professor Nubiola shared with the audience, through some images and numerous anecdotes, his career at the academic center, first as University Secretary, position , which he held for 13 years, and then as professor of Philosophy of Language, a subject which he has taught for 32 years to dozens of graduating classes of students.

He then discussed the evolution that this discipline has undergonein recent years and the way it is taught today. Using a "totally Nubiolesque" diagram that he draws on the blackboard at the beginning of each course, Professor Nubiola reminded the audience of the intersection between thought (words), language (ideas) and the world (things) and the keys to this discipline: meaning, reference letter and truth. He also reflected on the teaching of the Philosophy at present and defended that it should be"an instrument for the progressive critical and reasonable reconstruction of the daily internship , of living; a Philosophy that does not stray from genuine human problems and that springs from conversations between teachers and their students".

After a long and warm applause, the dean of the School of Philosophy and Letters, Julia Pavón, addressed Professor Nubiola and expressed, on behalf of all those present, her gratitude for having done for more than four decades what he is most passionate about: "Philosophizing and teaching to philosophize". For her part, the student delegate of the last promotion of Degree at Philosophy to whom Professor Nubiola will be teaching teaching thanked him, on behalf of the entire class, "for having shared with us the knowledge and the experience of years dedicated to knowledge, but also for having given us the opportunity to witness the testimony of a man dedicated to the joyful and passionate search for truth". School Raquel Lázaro, a former student of Professor Nubiola's, also took the floor to say that "in him we recognize a teacher and friend". These words were shared by another former student, present at the classroom: "Jaime Nubiola has been a true teacher, committed to the training of so many students whom he has taught and from whom he has never stopped learning, but he has also been a dear friend and a true philosopher".

After the acknowledgements, a video was shown that reviewed in images the last 45 years of Professor Nubiola in the classrooms and at campus of the University of Navarra, witnesses of his teachings, as well as in various international institutions where he has taught teaching. Photographs were also collected with colleagues, students and alumni who have immortalized in the last decades different moments of their university years with Professor Nubiola. At the end of the projection, and unable to contain his emotion, Jaime Nubiola closed the class paraphrasing the Nobel Prize winner Octavio Paz and addressed to those present "two words that have an equivalent in every language in the world: thank you very much".
