The impact of health on labor relations was the focus of the workshop from the Labor Relations Observatory of the University of Navarra – Labormatters Abogados

The incidence of health in the field of labor relations was the common denominator in which the I workshop of study and update in Labor Law and Social Security of the Labor Relations Observatory of the University of Navarra - Labormatters Abogados took place. The workshop took place at the headquarters of the postgraduate program of the University and was attendance by the committee of experts and about 80 professionals from the judiciary and business.
After the initial presentation of the workshop position Professors Eduardo Valpuesta (Universidad de Navarra) and Guillermo Barrios (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos), the first discussion paper was position by Professor Cristina Aragón (UNED) and dealt with the many practical problems that the management of temporary disability raises.
Alfredo Aspra, partner director of Labormatters Abogados, then analyzed the judicial and jurisprudential doctrine relating to two issues of extraordinary importance internship in the context of collective bargaining: on the one hand, the voluntary improvements or economic complements of the temporary disability allowance and, on the other hand, the impact of the health of workers when designing and/or calculating the so-called variable remuneration in companies.
Susana Molina (Magistrate of the High Court of Justice of Madrid) also intervened and dealt with the delimitation of the concept of reasonable accommodation as a legally required alternative to the termination of the work contract due to the declaration of a disability/disability of the workers. And Raquel Vicente (Magistrate of the High Court of Justice of Madrid) analyzed the national and European doctrine purpose the anti-discriminatory protection of the disease in the field of labor relations.
