El IESE gana por primera vez la MBA Case Competition

IESE wins the MBA Case Competition for the first time

The Business School of the University of Navarra won the final against the Kellogg Graduate School of Management

The IESE team, made up of students Anna-Marie Harling, Patricia Riopel, Michael Dallala and Eric Laux, has result the 15th IESE Roland Berger International MBA Case Competition, beating the Kellogg Graduate School of Management in the final. This is the first time IESE has won the competition, which concluded on Saturday at its Barcelona campus .

Over the course of three days, the participants discussed a case study on Wal-Mart' s strategy for entering the Indian market. The jury, composed of two partners from Roland Berger, the director of the Asia Case Research Centre and an expert from the consulting firm Indolink, congratulated all the schools for the quality of their presentations, and highlighted the IESE team's solution for "taking into consideration all the relevant factors in this complex case," as well as the argumentation of their answers during the Q&A round.

In addition to IESE and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, teams from six other business schools participated in this year's MBA Case Competition: London Business School, Rotterdam School of Management, Richard Ivey School of Business, Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and Chicago Booth School of Business.

The International MBA Case Competition began at IESE in 1996, and after 15 editions, the event has become a much-anticipated annual event. The Chicago Graduate School of Business (Chicago GSB), the NYU Stern School of Business and the London Business School were the winners of the four previous editions.
