On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi and on the feast day of Santa Cecilia, patron saint of music, the high school Mayor Belagua, in partnership with the Foro Navarro de la Música y las Artes Escénicas (FoNMAE) and the Pamplona City Council, organized a tribute concert to the Italian composer.
About four hundred people attended the concert, held at the Amigos Building of the University, and directed by Jordi Freixá, which consisted of the interpretation of some of the choruses and arias of his best operas, especially Il Trovatore, Rigoletto, La Traviata and La forza del destino.
In addition, between pieces, a costumed actor narrated the most decisive moments of the Italian composer with a touch of humor.
The concert was framed within the goal of the high school Mayor Belagua to bring art and culture closer to the university and the city of Pamplona through events organized entirely by its students.
