RedWINN was created at the framework of the association Innovactoras, a non-profit organisation that was born in Navarra with the spirit of creating a network of female referents in the innovation ecosystem. It has more than 60 women from 17 countries, as well as the collaboration of various entities linked to innovation, entrepreneurship and the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals set by diary 2030.

The dissemination and training work carried out by the Innovactoras association has led it to be a finalist in the UN's "WSIS 2020 Awards", which distinguishes projects and activities that harness the power of ICTs, in Category 18 for International and Regional Cooperation. This is a worldwide recognition which, in this edition, has this Navarrese association as the only representative from Spain. 

One of its initiatives is the submission Innovactora Awards, which seek to distinguish, reward and give visibility to women and young innovators who are developing or have developed new solutions to current challenges and who are therefore good references to inspire young people in particular and those who wish to innovate in general.
