It is a geriatric center with 123 beds, average , specialized in psychogeriatrics, orthogeriatrics, palliative care and convalescence oriented to the stabilization of acute episodes in elderly or very elderly people in situations of great fragility and dependence. The outpatient clinics specialize in elderly people with cognitive impairment and affective disorders. It also has geriatric and rehabilitation outpatient clinics and seven outpatient rehabilitation gyms in different towns in Gipuzkoa, with a specific device/center for neurological rehabilitation.

At Bermingham Hospital(See Info) we work as a team, in an interdisciplinary way to achieve a comprehensive care for the patient in which, in addition to geriatric doctors, nurses and assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and pharmacists participate.

The Ricardo Bermingham Hospital has a pioneering Unit professor multidisciplinary in Geriatrics in Spain, being the first private Hospital in the state to achieve this specialization program. Currently the unit is mainly dedicated to the training of internal nurses resident in the specialization program of geriatrics. These nurses carry out their theoretical training internship in different centers in Gipuzkoa and other Autonomous Communities.

Another relevant aspect is the Hospital's commitment to development of a project of the professional degree program within the Hospital. This commitment will allow the healthcare professionals working in the Hospital to achieve a progressive and continuous growth, supported by the training and research.

Our purpose is to provide comprehensive and individualized health care to the elderly to promote the maximum autonomy and well-being with the intervention and support of an interdisciplinary and innovative team specialized in geriatrics and we work to be a Hospital of reference letter, both in terms of quality and professionalism of care offered, as well as the quality of the people who work there.
