WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR IN OUR STUDENTS?

A Master's Degree aimed at graduates with Degrees university degrees in the areas of Modern Languages and Literatures, Linguistics, Translation and Education, who wish to develop their activity in the field of teaching of Spanish as a foreign language language, with a dynamic profile and open to diversity. The Master's Degree is also open to graduates from other university Degrees who, due to their interest in the teaching of foreign languages, wish to redirect their degree program towards the field of ELE.

  • transcript academic: 50%.

  • Motivation letter: 25%.

  • Letters of recommendation from teachers: 5%.

  • Interview at Admissions Office: 20%.

It will be necessary to have an accredited B2 level of English and a C1 level of Spanish for non-Spanish speakers.

If you are studying in a country outside the European Union, in addition to the above tests, we will also carry out an assessment of professional competences. For students with special needs, the University offers you the possibility to take a Unit for the Care of People with Disabilities (UADP).

Admission process

Online registration at Portal miUNAV, through the web. Once inside the Portal, the candidate can apply for the admission and attach all the required documentation.

 Language certificates:

- Students whose mother tongue is not English ( language ) will be required to have a B2 level certificate in English.

- For non-Spanish-speaking students, the minimum requirement is to hold a qualification accrediting a C1 level of Spanish. Failing this, the University will provide the necessary mechanisms to accredit the level of Spanish of candidate.

Payment of 100€ as a processing fee. 

Although documents can be uploaded to portal in stages, this step will not be considered complete until all documentation and payment has been received.


*Students in their final year of studies should submit transcript provisional with certified grades at the time of application.

The admission process will be completed with a personal interview with Director or with one of the members of the management team. 

The interview lasts approximately 30 minutes and questions will be asked about the CV of candidate, motivation for taking the Master's degree and professional objectives. Although skills and aptitudes have a great weight in the admission process, the personal interview will also take into account different aspects related to affectivity and attitudes such as assertiveness, kindness, capacity for reflection, tolerance, receptive attitude and curiosity. 

Interviews for Spanish candidates will be held at campus in Pamplona at the University of Navarra or by Skype. For candidates from other countries, interviews will be conducted via Skype. 

Once the admission application has been received, the Secretary of the Studies Committee of postgraduate program verifies it at agreement with profile and requirements and, subsequently, the Master's Management evaluates it and issues the final admission decision report .

The weighting of the different criteria indicated above will be taken into account.

The resolution is sent by e-mail and can be consulted at portal miUNAV.

If the candidate is admitted, you must reserve your place by paying a deposit of 1.000€, which will be deducted from the total price of the enrollment.

The pre-enrolment fee is non-refundable (except in the case of not having passed the Degree/licentiate degree course you are studying) and is formalised by following the instructions at Portal miUNAV.

The candidate admitted can formalise their enrollment through Portal miUNAV on the date indicated by the Admissions Service.

Economic information

The price of the Master's Degree University in teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language language (75 ECTS credit) can be consulted in this link. The enrollment includes:

  • Academic, teaching and teaching materials costs

  • Programme coordination and administrative costs

  • Round trip to Barcelona from Pamplona

  • accommodation in Barcelona

  • Hospitalisation and accident insurance in Spain during teaching and training periods

  • Complementary activities: conferences, events, conference from research, etc.

  • Does not include accommodation, meals and travel for the international week.

The students will receive a total remuneration of 2,000 euros in recognition of the collaborations they will carry out at ILCE during the ten months of the programme.

There are different ways to formalise the payment of the enrollment:

  • One-timepayment: indicating the account number, by cheque or transfer.

  • installment payment: Spanish students or students with residency program legal in Spain can take advantage of this payment system that allows the amount of the enrollment to be divided into 10 equal monthly instalments, by using the financing plan agreed with the main Banks and Savings Banks. In this modality of installment payment, for every 1,000 euros deferred, the monthly payment is approximately 102.89 euros.

  • Deferred payment (without interest): at the time of formalising the enrollment the student must pay at least 25% (this part may include the reservation of place, if it has been paid previously). The remainder is to be paid by position on card in three instalments, due on 10 November, 10 January and 10 March.

  • Bank loans and credits: attendance University Service has compiled extensive information on bank loans and credits from various institutions. You can consult this information on the website Admissions Office y Ayudas.

Scholarships

This is a special fee system for students with suitable conditions and interest, who have financial difficulties in pursuing studies at the University of Navarra.

Assistantship: The students will teach an extra course (6ECTS/course) during the first and second semester. 

 

Recipients: Applicants for the MA Program in Spanish Second Language Teaching

Amount: €500 / month (Sept-Dec and Jan-Apr)

 

scholarship: 20% discount on the price (ordinary or incentivised), not cumulative with other discounts.

 

Target group: European and Latin American students admitted to the Master's Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language language who have obtained a minimum mark of 7 (on a scale of 0 to 10) or 2 (on a scale of 1 to 4) in the qualification that gives access to the Master's Degree.

Grant: The University of Navarra participates in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. 

 

Recipients: The U.S. Department of Education (the Department) lends the money directly to students through the student's school. The university certifies the following loans from the Direct Loan program:
