Workshop - Frontiers in Cancer, Obesity and Metabolism
Course "Conscious and healthy eating: mindful eating".
The summer course, organised by the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition of the University of Navarra thanks to sponsorship of the Government of Navarra, was held on 27-30 June.
It is worth highlighting the large turnout (54 people), very varied in terms of their profiles: journalists, cooks, retired people, doctors, nurses, students, etc. And in terms of age: from 18 to 79 years old. They were all very satisfied with the content and organisation of the course.
The presentations, given by 7 experts, were educational, informative and entertaining. At the end of each workshop the participants expressed their concerns and curiosities about the topics presented: Mindfulness techniques applied to how we deal with food, psychological tools to deal with bad eating habits, awareness of the portions we consume and their comparison with healthy recommendations, the knowledge of the different possibilities of hydration, including the status of intense sport. Finally, they were able to taste dishes prepared with the balance provided by knowledge of ingredients and techniques and the emotions we feel when consuming them.
At final, an activity of great interest that, for sure, financial aid will contribute to the health and wellbeing of the citizens of Navarre.
