This work analyses and represents cartographically at four points in time (2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017) the ageing of Spanish urban areas and their relationship with the ageing of the province in which they are located. Four ageing models are also defined according to the relationship between the intensity of ageing in 2020 and the rate of change for the entire period. The continuous census statistics are used to calculate the percentage of the population aged 65 and over as an indicator of ageing and the percentage of the population aged 80 and over as an indicator of over-ageing. The delimitation of the urban space chosen is that of the Statistical Atlas of Urban Areas in Spain. As main conclusions, (1) the contrasts in ageing between the urban and rural worlds have been reduced, while those of over-ageing have increased in favour of the rural world; (2) the sharpest contrasts are found between most of the urban areas of north-western Spain, with high levels and rapid rates of ageing, and the urban areas of the Mediterranean and Andalusian coasts, with slower levels and rates of ageing.

The active ageing paradigm calls for attention to a growing ageing population. In line with this, the "age-friendly cities" movement seeks to optimise the use of urban spaces to improve the quality of life as people age. work The aim of goal is to analyse the impact of vertical mobility infrastructures on the quality of life of older people living in neighbourhoods with topographical differences. The methodology is qualitative and consists of a case study of the city of Pamplona (Spain). The data were obtained through in-depth interviews and focus groups. The main results are that IMUVs improve accessibility for people with reduced mobility , enhance urban permeability and generate positive changes in the urban fabric and uses.

Understanding the family experience of health and illness within the family's social and cultural context helps health professionals understand a family's stories. The purpose of this article is to present salient characteristics of the Western European family to extend understanding about family structure and values in relation to caring and intergenerational solidarity. The goal is to provide nurses and other health professionals with culturally competent knowledge that can inform practise with families. Evidence suggests that a family model, characterized by strong-family type societies consisting of coresidence, solidarity, and intergenerational relationships, stalwartly continues in Mediterranean countries. However, due to the recent economic crisis in Spain and other European countries, there is a trend toward the withdrawal of state responsibility toward the family, and increasing weight on families' responsibility, particularly for women, toward the care of their old and chronically ill relatives. Therefore, there is a need to make health and social systems more effective, sustainable, and focused on family care.

This paper explores the relationship between immigration and health status variation among Moroccan immigrants from a gender perspective, using data from a cross-sectional ethnographic survey conducted in the Spanish region of Navarre. Results show, against the literature, that women have a better health status variation than men, probably because men have a higher age profile and a longer stay in Spain. The binary logistic regression reveals important differences in social determinants by gender. Paid employment is the most positive, significant factor for health among women. Close social ties with compatriots, living in an inexpensive old house and, to a lesser extent, having a secondary level of educational achievement are the key factors for men. The economic implications of daily life have an impact on the health of Moroccan immigrants of both sexes.

The goal of this work is to analyse, from a gender perspective, the factors that influence the migration calendar of married Moroccans to Spain. To do so, we use information from an ethnographic survey (n=262 subjects) applied in 2013 to the Moroccan population living in Navarre, and estimate logistic regression models to predict which variables have more influence on the accelerated family reunification of the subjects. The results show that in both models, male and female, the most relevant determinant is that the woman works in the same year as the reunification, followed by the time lapse between the reunification and 2008. Furthermore, in the male model , it is important to consider whether or not the woman is able to work outside the home, while in the female case, variables related to social capital such as: age of the spouse, young children or head of household are significant. The conclusion is that early family reunification among Moroccans reflects a reality marked by economic motivations and also by gender differences.

The definition of immigrant integration is complex as it is multi-faceted and subject to change over time. Measuring integration requires the use of numerous indicators and has few empirical examples. This paper proposes a measurement proposal using indicators of the socio-economic, cultural and civic dimensions of integration. The 2007 National Immigrant Survey survey is used and the analysis is applied to the main groups of immigrants residing in Spain: Romanians, English, Moroccans, Argentinians, Colombians and Ecuadorians.

Demographic ageing is a matter of concern from many points of view, including the spatial location of the elderly. And although this phenomenon mainly affects the rural world, there are more and more city neighbourhoods whose population is in an advanced state of ageing. This has obvious social, mobility, welfare and other consequences. This is why this aspect is always taken into account when analysing the vulnerability of different urban areas.
From this perspective, the present work aims to (1) establish a suitable methodology for the delimitation of what can be considered an ageing neighbourhood today and (2) show how to result the status of this phenomenon by urban areas, using the latest available census data (2017), at census section level.
