The goal of article is to shed light on the change in the policy of civil service examination monarchy from 1954 onwards, a moment core topic for the training of Prince Juan Carlos with the beginning of his university studies. The sources used come from the personal archives of the Count of Fontanar, Julio Danvila and the Count of Los Andes. The methodology consists of reviewing the monarchical action and its influence on the decisions taken by Don Juan de Borbón throughout 1954. The erratic monarchist action throughout that year and the manoeuvres of the various monarchist groups that ended with the imposition of the group partisan Education of the Prince in Spain are reviewed. In this context, the preparations for the Las Cabezas meeting between Franco and Don Juan led to the triumph of the sector closest to the regime, with Julio Danvila once again taking the reins as link between Estoril and El Pardo.
