Kino Awards
The Kino Awards were created by the department of Culture and Audiovisual Communication in 1996 to recognize the creative, artistic and technical achievements of short films made by students in the last year of the degree program
The word "Kino" is very appropriate for a award of this subject because, at Spanish, it sounds like a proper or diminutive name, as is the case with the major film awards (the Oscars, the Goya, the César, the Felix, etc.). It also means "cinema" in some languages such as German or Russian.
