Kino Awards
The Kino Awards were created by the department de Cultura y Comunicación Audiovisual in 1996 to recognise the creative, artistic and technical achievements of short films made by students in their final year at degree program.
The word "Kino" is very appropriate for a award of this subject because, at Spanish, it sounds like a proper or diminutive name, as is the case with the major film awards (the Oscars, the Goya, the César, the Felix, etc.). It also means "cinema" in some languages such as German or Russian.
