The Impactun Foundation Foundation and the Master's Degree in Christianity and Contemporary Culture of the University of Navarra have awarded annually, since 2025, the Impactunaward in Christianity and Contemporary Culture.
This award recognizes individuals and institutions that integrate Christian values in an exemplary manner and contribute significantly to the dialogue between faith and contemporary culture. It also seeks to reward those who, by their example and work, promote a more just, supportive and transformative society.
Sister Clara Medina
In this first edition, Sister Clara Medina, of the Salesian Missionary Sisters of Christ the Shepherd, was recognized for her work with the victims of the DANA that affected the Valencian Community in October 2024.
Backed by Caritas, the 36-year-old nun worked tirelessly for more than three months in the Raval neighborhood of Algemesí (Valencia), one of the most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged areas of Spain, and one of the hardest hit by the catastrophe.
His dedication and leadership have been instrumental in coordinating an extensive humanitarian financial aid effort: he organized teams of volunteers to clean houses and streets, distribute food and basic necessities, care for isolated elderly and sick people, and provide emotional and spiritual support to affected neighbors.
