The goal of this program is to provide training , specialized training to professionals and individuals interested in developing the skills and competencies needed to support individuals or groups in challenging situations who are experiencing suffering, crisis, or transformation.

Taking an approach , the program integrates knowledge from anthropology, moral theology, psychology, and pastoral care, providing tools for deep, respectful, and effective accompaniment.

Run by the School of Theology the University of Navarra, this program addresses a growing need in today's society: to offer human and spiritual support in complex situations based on a solid, professional foundation.

To provide comprehensive support to people in difficult situations.
To provide support that encompasses all aspects of the human experience: psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual.

Understanding the emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects of suffering.

Listen actively and foster an atmosphere of trust. You will be able to create a safe and respectful environment in which the person staff supporting can express themselves fully, feeling understood and supported throughout their process.

Communicate clearly , sensitively, and appropriately. They will know when to speak up and when to remain silent, allowing the support process to unfold naturally and respectfully.

Effectively intervene in situations of emotional and existential crisis, knowing how to manage emotional stress and provide basic psychological support when necessary.

Act with a deep sense of ethics: they will develop a clear understanding of the ethical implications of human and spiritual accompaniment, acting with the utmost respect for the dignity, autonomy, and beliefs of others.

Recognize the limits of their role and address ethical dilemmas. Identify the limits of their role, knowing when their role must be supplemented by the support of other professionals.

Methodology

The course begins on September 14, 2026, and ends on June 30, 2027.
The program is structured into ten modules, which will be released progressively. The first four modules will be available on the platform between September and December, and the remaining six between January and June.
Students will study the units independently by reading the content posted on the platform.
Participants will be able to organize the order and pace work available units according to their needs.
Each unit will include two live online sessions:

Webinar during the second week of the month corresponding to the unit.

tutorial with the instructor manager the third or fourth week.
Although the study of the units is flexible, the webinars and tutorials follow the program’s monthly schedule.
At the end of each unit, participants will be required to complete an assessmentquestionnaire .
