Outreach Activities - School of Sciences
In addition to the activities organised at Campus in Pamplona, the School offers schools several sessions of knowledge dissemination science, especially aimed at pupils in the 1st and 2nd years of primary school. high school diploma.
The sessions are free of charge and last about 45 minutes. They can be given in person at the centre that requests them or online (subject to availability).
The sessions offered for the 2023-24 academic year are as follows:
Explanation of the case of a disease that produced blue skin colour in patients. The solution lies in topics given in biology and Chemistry of high school diploma. Theoretical session with a demonstration experiment.
Demonstration of different scientific techniques for the study of crime scenes. Fingerprinting, detection of toxic substances and blood. Students take part in various experiments.
Explanation and resolution of a real case: car in an accident garage about to be assessed. Blood stains, traces of hair, mud and plants on the tyres. The accident victim claims to have run over a roe deer. The insurance does not believe the accident victim's story. Why did he take the car to the garage and not report the accident at the scene? Was it a hit and run? Was it an accident with an animal?
Explanation of the branch of science known as biotechnology. Differences with similar branches: biomedicine, Biochemistry ,etc.
