summary:
HYDRO in collaboration with the UNAV, intend with this project to investigate the possibilities of incorporating thermoelectric systems, capable of providing and extracting heat (heating and cooling) to support the air conditioning of buildings, in exterior carpentry of extruded aluminium profiles. Its application would be extended to residential, office and hospital buildings, with special emphasis on the field of energy rehabilitation of buildings.
The result of project will be a solution in the form of a prototype of active carpentry with a behaviour that balances 100% of the heat losses through the window openings. In addition, the element is expected to provide a thermal contribution to the heating and cooling demand, thus reducing the overall energy consumption, as well as eliminating the heating demand in months with intermediate temperatures (October-November and February-March).
