The profileof the studentwishing to do the doctoral programat Canon Lawis that of a graduateat Canon Law, with a good academic transcriptand curriculum, with an aptitude for scientific researchand with a knowledge, at least basic, knowledge of other languages such as Latin, Italian, English and French.

To access the doctoral program, it is necessary to be in possession of the degree scrollof graduateat Canon Lawwith a Degreehigh level of achievement and that the candidate, once it has been considered Passby the Academic Committee, is accepted by the boarddirective of the School.

Completion of the licentiate degreedoes not grant automatic access to doctoral program, so in all cases it will be necessary to apply forthe Admissions Officeto these programs of studyand to obtain the approval of the boardboard of directors.

  • The candidatewill present the applicationof Admissions Officeon the Office of the Registrarof the University through the portal MyUnav. At Office of the Registrarthey will proceed to register the applicationand send it to Academic Committeeof the Programme.

  • This Commission will issue its reportafter the mandatory interview with candidateand, where appropriate, will establish the appropriate training complements for profileof student.

  • In view of the available places, the boardboard of directors will send the applicationwith its approvalto the School of doctorate, which will verify compliance with the requirementsaccess requirements for its Admissions Officeby the Office of the Executive Council.

Students will be admitted to the Programme with part-timewho, because of their pastoral work, the exercise of their profession or other statusstaff , cannot devote the entire workshopto the work of research. This circumstance will be specified by studentin their application.

The studentwith dedication full-timemay apply forof the Academic Committeethe change to the statusof dedication part-time, provided that it is duly justified. Likewise, a studentwith part-timemay apply forthe change to statusof dedication full-time. In both cases, the Commission will issue a favourable reportif it considers that there are objective circumstances that justify the request.

For the access of students with specific educational needs derived from disability, a special study of the applicationof Admissions Office will be carried out, assessing the need for possible curricular adaptations, alternative itineraries or programs of study, even proposing to the student a division of the study in several years if necessary. In the same way, applications from refugees, fugitives and people in similar situations who do not have the regular documentation required will be dealt with.

Along with the applicationof Admissions Office, the candidateshould submita curriculum vitae and -if the student has not studied at the University of Navarra- a letter of referencefrom a university professor or from a professional for whom the student has worked candidate. In the event that the candidatehas taken the Programme or courses of doctorateat another university centre, he/she must explain the reasons for the change of academic centre. The Academic Committeewill value for the proposalof Admissions Office: the curriculumof the candidate(especially their academic results and the suitability of the trainingreceived), the thematic areaof the researchthat they plan to carry out and the knowledge of languages. At the discretion of Academic Committee, the candidatemay require the student to take any additional trainingcourses deemed necessary to fill any possible gaps in their training.
