Objectives and competences
The doctoral program in "Food, Physiology and Health" aims to:
- To train new researchers and prepare teams that can successfully face the challenge posed by Food Science and Nutrition and their relationship with Health.
- Promote the training of new university professors in disciplines related to these sciences.
- To specialize those postgraduates who are interested in this wide and very important research field for their professional, scientific and technical development .
- To train doctors who can contribute to the development of new safe and healthy food products and promote optimal nutrition for people at different stages of life.
These qualifications enable the PhD graduate of the Program to join multidisciplinary research groups within the complex field of Nutrition, Food and Health, both in the University and in R&D&I units of the Food Industry, in Public and Private research Organizations, Food Safety Agencies, in research units of Hospital Centers, etc. It is also worth mentioning the high number issue food industries of various kinds in our region that have been developing their research and development teams with, among others, doctors trained in the scope of this doctoral program
Competences
The doctoral program in Food, Physiology and Health, guarantees the acquisition by the PhD student of the basic competences and personal skills and abilities established in article 5 of the Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28 (BOE of February 10, 2011), modified by RD 576/2023, of July 4, corresponding to level 4 in the MECESframework Spanishframework of Qualifications for Higher Education ). In addition, the PhD student will acquire the additional competences listed in the attachment document.
