Access and Admission
Access and admission to the "doctoral program in Global Society Law: development economic, risk and social integration" is verified at agreement in accordance with the provisions of articles 6 and 7 of RD 99/2011.
The profile of admission of the student that will carry out our Program is that of a graduate in Law with a good transcript and curriculum, who wishes to carry out a work of research in matters related to globalization, risk and social integration, and who is willing to acquire and defend the values of respect for diversity, integration of diverse groups and cultures, and the defense of human rights and democratic values. This "profile model " does not exclude the possible admission of students with Degrees other than Law, provided that their previous training allows them to acquire the competences of the Program and that they commit themselves to carry out the training complements indicated to them. The knowledge of English will be valued and preferred, although it is not a necessary requirement.
For access to this Program it will be necessary to be in possession of the official Spanish degrees of Degree in Law, or equivalent, and of Master's Degree . Exceptionally, the Academic Committee may propose the admission of persons who have studied a Degree other than Law, provided that they intend to carry out a thesis whose subject matter is related to their degree scroll of Degree and to the contents of the doctoral program of which this report deals with. For these purposes, the previous legal training that the applicant has received in its training of Degree or Postgraduate, even in the professional field, will be valued. If the training of Degree or Postgraduate or the professional practice in areas bordering on law or purely legal justify it (for example, by having studied a Master's Degree in legal subjects, or by exercising a legal professional work), no complements of training will be necessary; otherwise, candidate may be required to take one of the modules of the "Master's Degree in Human Rights", or modules of the legal or methodological master's degrees offered by the University of Navarra, which are an appropriate complement to the legal or methodological/legal training . In order to make the decision on admission and on the possible complements of training a written hearing will be given to applicant, and a reasoned report will be made by the future director of thesis that for these purposes is provisionally pre-assigned by the Academic Committee of the program.
Access is also open to those who are in one of the following situations:
a) Be in possession of an official Spanish university degree degree scroll , or from another country of the European Higher Education Area Education , which qualifies for access to Master's Degree of agreement with the provisions of article 16 of Royal Decree 1393/2007, of October 29 and have passed a minimum of 300 credits ECTS credit in the set of official university programs of study , of which at least 60 must be at the level of Master's Degree.
b) Be in possession of an official Spanish degree scroll of graduate or Graduate, whose duration, according to community law standards, is at least 300 credits ECTS credit. training c) University graduates who, after obtaining place at training in the corresponding test for access to places in training specialised health care, have passed at least two years of a programme for obtaining the official degree scroll in one of the specialities in Health Sciences with a positive assessment .
d) Holding a degree obtained in accordance with foreign education systems, without the need for its recognition, after verification by the university that it accredits a level of training equivalent to that of the official Spanish Master's degree and that it entitles the holder to access doctoral studies in the country issuing the degree. This admission will not imply, under any circumstances, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party nor its recognition for any other purposes than that of access to doctoral studies.
e) Be in possession of another Spanish doctoral degree obtained in accordance with previous university regulations.
f) Be in possession of an official university degree that has obtained the correspondence to level 3 of the framework Spanish Qualifications for Higher Education, from agreement with the procedure established in the Royal Decree 967/2014, of 21 November, which establishes the requirements and the procedure for the homologation and declaration of equivalence to degree and official university academic level and for the validation of foreign studies in Higher Education, and the procedure to determine the correspondence to the levels of the framework Spanish Qualifications for Higher Education of the official degrees of Architect, Engineer, graduate, Technical Architect, Technical Engineer and diploma holder.
In the same way, the students who have the Certificate of Research Proficiency or Diploma of programs of study Advanced, obtained according to the previous legal regimes, will be able to access. All this, without prejudice to new forms of access that are recognized by law or regulation.
submit In addition to the general requirements common to all doctorate programs, a curriculum vitae must be sent to candidate with the admission application application .
The Academic Committee will value for the admission proposal : the curriculum of the candidate (especially their academic results and the suitability of the training received); the thematic area of the research proposed; the coherence of the Master's Degree or Masters and the content of that research with the objectives of the Program; and the knowledge of English language (not a necessary requirement, but convenient, to be able to work on documents and publications in that language), as well as other languages. Before applying the weighting criteria, the Commission will verify that the subject matter on which the student wishes to conduct research is aligned with the program's Lines of research , and that there are PhD professors available to direct or co-direct the work, otherwise admission will be denied.
The weighting of the aforementioned criteria will be as follows:

Academic results 40% (grade average out of 10 would be equivalent to 50%, and out of 5 would be 0%, and the rest of the grades in mathematical proportion);

Suitability of the training received 20% (the maximum will be obtained if you are graduate in Law, and in other cases the previous legal training received or the commitment of training in legal matters referred to in the previous point will be valued);

area research 10% (depending on the availability of directors in that subject);

Coherence of the Master's Degree or masters taken 20% (will depend on the competencies acquired according to the Master's Degree taken and their affinities with those of the content of this doctoral program);

knowledge of languages 10%. It will be necessary to obtain at least a sum of 60%.
The admissions process will be as follows:
a) The candidate will present the application of admission in the administrative office Technical research, which will proceed to its registration and subsequent sending to the Academic Committee of the program.
b) This Commission will issue its report after the mandatory interview with the candidate, will designate its director of thesis and, if applicable, will establish the appropriate training complements to the profile of student.
c) The board directive of the center manager of the program will send the application with its approval to the School of doctorate, which will verify the fulfillment of the requirements access for its admission by the Office of the Executive Council.
Students will be admitted to the Program with part-time, who due to their professional dedication or status staff cannot dedicate the entire workshop to the work of research . The student will specify this circumstance in its application , and in any case, anyone who carries out a professional activity will be admitted as student with part-time . These students will be informed of the need for dedication to the work of research and the time they have available to carry out the doctoral thesis .
The student with dedication full-time may apply for of the Academic Committee the change to the status of dedication part-time, justifying the reasons for such request. Likewise, a student with part-time may also request a change to status of dedication full-time. In both cases, the Commission will issue a favorable report if it considers that there is an objective circumstance (family or professional dedication, normally) that justifies the request.
For the access of students with specific educational needs derived from disability, a special study of the admission application will be carried out, assessing the need for possible curricular adaptations, itineraries or alternative programs of study , even proposing to the student a division of the study in several years if necessary. A special tutorial will be made for this student, with the support of the University's innovation in education services. In any case, at least 20% of the places in the Program will be exclusively for applicants with these specific educational needs, and can only be covered by other people if there are no applicants with these characteristics.
For students who do not have the Degree of Law the Academic Committee will value the previous legal training that the applicant has received in its training of Degree or Postgraduate, including in the professional field.
