WHO
WHO ARE WE?
The group of research Psychological Processes in Education, health and organizations of the School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra, which has been working since 2018, has the general goal to investigate on two main groups of variables. The first, in relation to psychological variables that interfere in educational processes, such as those associated with the learning/teaching relationship, academic performance and self-regulation in learning. Likewise, we are interested in investigating those psychological variables in health and disease processes, such as behavioral health, well-being, stress and anxiety.
COLLABORATING ENTITY
These are the main areas of research of group:
Psychological variables in educational processes: learning, teaching and academic performance, stress and self-regulation.
Psychological variables in the processes of health and disease: behavioral health, well-being, stress and anxiety.
ONGOING PROJECTS
The project research and development has three main objectives in terms of scientific research , technological development and transfer of knowledge and innovation. They are explained below:
RESEARCH SCIENTIFIC
Integrating positive and negative achievement emotions variables (Pekrun, 2016). and academic commitment (Chistenson, Reschly and Wylie, 2013), in the recent "model from skill for Learning, Studying and Performing under Stress.", CAERE (from the source, 2015) and in the. "Self vs. Hetero Regulation Theory of Learning." (from the source, 2017), to learn about its impact on the processes of self-regulation of learning and performance, as well as on the mental health of university students.
To build high-level inferential and structural explanatory scientific models that will allow for explain the core role of the emotions of achievement and commitment in the processes of university teaching-learning. These models will bring with them an important element of cross-cultural comparison, in relation to other Anglo-Saxon, European and Ibero-American Universities. Based on this experience, an international network will be requested on this issue. The design of research will be ex post-facto. A total of 2400 university students will participate in this study, coming from four Spanish universities, two public and two private (Navarra, Almeria, Granada and UNIR), two European (UK and Italy), and two Latin American (Colombia and Argentina), bringing together national and international researchers, specialized in each of the topics on which the study works. project
DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGY
Cross-culturally validate the instruments The results of these studies, especially with regard to the emotions of achievement and academic commitment, have been translated from Anglo-Saxon versions to the European, Spanish and Ibero-American environments, and vice versa.
Develop the second version of the e-Countering Academic Stress®. (from the source, 2015), integrating the new variables that allow to carry out an e-assessment and e-intervention for the improvement of emotions and academic engagement, in the process of teaching-university learning, which will be tested in a generalized and experimental way, at international level.
Perform a new European Registration and a US Patentin bilingual format, Spanish-English.
KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION TRANSFER
Transfer the knowledge, to international publishing houses (NOVA or GLOBAL, USA; FRONTIERS, Europe) in publications of articles, manuals and international chapters.
Transferring the new version of e-Utilitywith the variables of Academic Emotions and Academic Commitment to Spanish, European and American Universities interested, through Contracts research and development of service provision, as well as exploitation contract, from the University and from the business of Technological Base its commercialization. Also to the Departments of research and development+I of the Official Colleges of Psychologists interested at National and International level.

As a consequence of the trajectory of our research and development+i through our projects-especially in 2018 (mentioned above) -we have developed:
A model of competencies of risk and protective factors staff in relation to academic stress/well-being (from the source, et al., 2015, 2018, 2018, 2019, 2021);
A factor interaction model (in the context of specific teaching-learning processes) called Self vs External Regulation Behavior Theory (from the source, 2021, 2022). Both are currently in the process of technical and empirical development .
It is a multilingual tool used online, in several languages (English, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Spanish). This technological development consists of three parts:
tool of self-assessment for each of the empirically contrasted factors and variables of our previous research after:
-
translation
-
validation in each language
-
revalidation in that format. This part of the tool allows the development of an individual and group report for a given inventory with information for the student on each item assessed in their own language. The student obtains a score leave (red), average (yellow) or high (green). The tool can also provide data for a group, either by topic, group clinical or group organizational.
assessment of Username satisfaction with self-assessment and self-help. Integrated into the inventory of self-assessment.
tool for each factor. The tool sample to each Username a self-help guide based on their score for each variable.
The project of test of concept will allow:
Improve the features of the
e-Coping with Stress application:
In its current format, it can be used as a tool self-help (assessment and improvement) on multilingual online by pre-university (School Completion Examinations) and university students (licentiate degree, postgraduate; candidates for competitive examinations) teachers y studentsThe final version is currently missing some languages: French, German, Chinese and Arabic. In the final version, it can also be used by therapists y patients.
In its updated format, as App and incorporating AIwill be more transferable to the end market of university users.
Make the tool available to end users through the supervising and promoting bodies. The high school Oficial de Psicología de España is our Supervisory Body and Gunti-EOS is the Promoter.
The sectors inhabited by the end users are the different countries and languages indicated: pre-university and university students; candidates for public examinations; educational settings with Educational Psychologists; health establishments headed by medical internship groups and Organizations that have in-house Psychologists.
The characteristics of the tool to be tested in the test concept are differential specifically in overcoming the identified problems:
All the variables evaluated are based on factors that are part of scientifically validated models.
Each of the assessment tools used has been revalidated at the corresponding language . This is ongoing because there are several tools and in some cases they have been recently translated.
The tool, in global terms, has been designed and is intended to help evaluate the Degree of skill in the management of stress in university students and to propose strategies for improvement. In its current design phase, it can be used by Educational Psychologists in pre-university and university settings, by General Psychologists at internship and by Internal Psychologists in Organizations.
Since it is in several languages, the tool can be used in its entirety at European and international level.
The novelty and innovation of proposal has several aspects:
There is no similar multilingual tool in the field because it has been developed on the basis of previous existing research on academic stress, positive psychology and well-being in the university context.
It can be used staff, unobtrusively and easily online or, in the future, through a system of cell phone applications.
It allows the permanent collection of data and its use in research. The data will also be analyzed by artificial intelligence.
Its structure of assessment and self-help can be adapted to incorporate new variables depending on the current research .
As part of the Inetas online system (www.inetas.net) you can host and make room for other similar

RESEARCH SCIENTIFIC
Construct a robust empirical predictive model with consistent inferential, structural and conceptual relationships that determines the significant relationships between the variables under discussion.
DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGY
Generate a third version of research of the tool e-Countering Academic Stress that allows e-assessment and e-Intervention related to the variables identified in Psychology of the Education. Clinical-Health, Psychosocial and Organizational areas in new languages (French, German, Chinese and Arabic).
TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION
Transfer the resulting scientific knowledge through high impact international publications. Transfer the technology of this innovation through the evaluated organizations through Technology Transfer Contracts for the use of the tool in companies and other organizations and the network INETAS at European level in coordination with the project Proof of Concept 2022 awarded (ref. PDC2022- 133145-I00 PSI).
