DEAR CHANGE AGENTS:
On behalf of the UNMUN'24 Organizing committee and all the members of the Staff, it is a real honor and a privilege to welcome you to our eleventh edition that will be held in the vicinity of our campus in the beautiful city of Pamplona in Spain.
We have always been told that we young people are the ones responsible for making the change the world needs; I would love to be the one who has to disprove this statement, but unfortunately or fortunately... we are the ones who, in a few decades, will lead the world and play with the future as we wish. I hope we will play well, cleanly and with all the necessary tools; tools, which are available now, which come out of academia and which I am sure we will get at UNMUN'24.
To achieve this, our mission statement is to develop an event where there is a free space to debate about the problems that torment the International Community day by day, that is why we invite everyone to take an active role in the discussions that we know will have a significant impact on our society, but above all... on us.
I hope, with all my heart, that what I have achieved in UNMUN'24 will not be forgotten when I conclude with my final speech at the Closing Ceremony, but that what I have learned and cultivated will remain with all of you to reach those goals you have in the future and that I know you will achieve.
On behalf of the committee Organizer and all the UNMUN'24 Staff, we wish that everything runs smoothly for all participants. If you have any questions during the model, please do not hesitate to contact any team member and we assure you that we will do our best to make this experience as pleasant as possible.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Pamplona,
Yours faithfully,
Ignacio Milman
University Secretary of UNMUN'24
Meet the team
What is a MUN?
The model of the United Nations dates back to the beginning of the 20th century with the creation of the League of Nations, based on simulations of it, later transitioning, and officially establishing itself as model with the establishment of the United Nations in 1945.
It is a simulation that seeks to imitate the procedures of the United Nations to find solutions to real problems, through negotiation tools, discussion, and discussion, promoting processes of research, learning, and academic growth and staff.
In an increasingly globalized and interconnected world, these models allow an opportunity for students to see firsthand the relevance of diplomatic processes, and to understand the decisions of their countries as well as create awareness of the consequences that these can have, hence their importance and the relevance of diplomacy.
Thus, for more than a century, these conferences have seen the creation of agents of change, motivated by the idea of a better world and using international cooperation as tool for this.
What is a UNMUN?
The University of Navarra was founded in 1952 with the dream of training students who could be aware of the importance and dedication to service, by means of different tools that they employ through specialized study.
Since 2013, the initiative of model of the United Nations has been added as part of an academic training that allows to create in its students a culture of commitment, service, and passion for making their world a better place.
After more than a decade, UNMUN has managed to establish itself as one of the most anticipated events for students of the University. It is a space where they can highlight their best skills discussion, sharing with students not only from the university but soon also with students from other countries, creating a multicultural and multifaceted opportunity that gives students a first-hand experience for the development dynamic of their academic growth.
