Epitaph of Annia Vegeta (101-200 A.D.)

Cipo, of granite, incomplete and lascado in the superior part. It could correspond to the central body of an altar of quadripartite constitution that would be complemented by base, cornija and flying cimácio. The text, preserved in its entirety, corresponds to the epitaph of a Roman citizen named Ânia Vegeta, daughter of Ânio Valente, originally from the Biscayan city of Lancienses. The name of the deceased is highlighted at the beginning of the inscription by the use of capitals of module superior to the one used in the rest of the text. The execution of the epigraphic support is a testamentary disposition of the mother of the deceased, as possibly the architectural framework, associated to one of the necropoles of the city. It is located in Idanha-a-Velha.
