Epitaph of an indigenous family (71-130 A.D.)

Architectural block, of granite, with some beliscaduras in the lateral edges and inferior of the front face. It was destined to funerary construction in cemetery space of the city. The text, engraved with square capitals, integrates a retangular epigraphic field delimited by a square cord along the smooth edge of the block. The pagination of the text was not well achieved, since only the first line adapts to the surface of the epigraphic field, the remaining lines invading the molding and border on the right side. In the epitaph are named three elements of a local family of pilgrim status, Tagano, from Mantau, Cílea, from Túrio and Tagana, from Tagano, respectively father, mother and mother of Domício, from Tagano, the dedicator. It is found in the Epigraphic Archive of Idanha-a-Velha.

Dimensions (cm): 41 x 99 x 39
