project Basics classroom Saludable
BASICS_AulaSaludable is an innovative project promoted by the School of Nursing of the University of Navarra that seeks to help students reflect on their alcohol consumption and make more conscious decisions for their health. The project has been developed in successive phases:
1. design and adaptation of the international BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) program to the Spanish context.
2. development of a training program for fourth-year nursing students to serve as peer leaders and offer students personalized intervention based on motivational interviewing.
3. A feasibility study to evaluate the BASICS_HealthyClassroom training program and intervention; and finally.
4. Finally, a randomized clinical essay in which more than 300 first and second year university students participated.
Through the BASICS_AulaSaludable intervention, led by previously trained fourth-year nursing students, participants received personalized feedback on their alcohol consumption in the context of a motivational interview. This project has demonstrated that, when students themselves become health promoters, positive changes can be achieved in the university community, strengthening not only individual health, but also the well-being of the student community.

project Preaddiction
Substance use has increased over the years globally. This highlights the importance of training health professionals to develop prevention strategies for substance-related and addictive disorders.
Due to the high prevalence of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis consumption among young people and the role of the university in the training of future leaders of society, it is essential to train future health professionals (Pharmacy, Medicine, Psychology and Nursing) and professionals from other disciplines such as design, Journalism and Marketing, so that they are able, from their disciplines, to carry out health promotion actions. This is how the Pre(ad)diction project was born.
