From an academic point of view, it is subdivided into four teaching sections focused on integrated teaching: Anatomy and Embryology, Pathological Anatomy, Cell Biology and Histology and Physiology, which aim to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the structure and function of the human body. goal The department develops an intense activity professor at Degree and postgraduate program teaching a large number of subjects in all health science degrees.
The research activity of the members of department is mainly in the areas of Oncology, Neurosciences, Endocrinology and Medical Education. In this respect, many of its members carry out their research in the CIMA(Solid Tumours Programme and Neurosciences Programme) and in the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (Pathological Anatomy). In addition, the Section of Pathological Anatomy carries out an intense assistance work at Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
development Within the department of Pathology, Anatomy and Physiology is the laboratory of Histology which is integrated in the Drug Development Unit (Drug Development Unit) of the Research Management Service of the University of Navarra. The Histology laboratory is certificate by the Government of Navarra in compliance with the Principles of Good Practice of laboratory (GLP) for histological sample processing and Haematoxylin-Eosin staining. In addition, laboratory offers other services related to various histological techniques (specific stains, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, etc.).
