The eRISIKO (Electric Vehicles Fire Risk Assessment in Indoor Car Parks) project aims goal to improve fire safety in buildings in light of the growing presence of electric vehicles (EVs). To this end, it is developing a dynamic tool driven by artificial intelligence for the assessment of fire risk, focused on both safety design and real-time assessment , supported by robust experimental data and integrated with regulatory programs of study and energy management systems.
The global transition to electric mobility represents an emerging challenge for fire safety in buildings. Electric vehicle fires have unique characteristics due to their lithium-ion batteries, including:

The eRISIKO project ( project ) builds on the previous work of the EVRISK and EU FireStat projects, expanding the scope of the research to incorporate experimental research and advanced fire simulations, as well as fostering broader collaborations between academic and industrial stakeholders.

Objectives
Conduct comprehensive experiments on fire dynamics in electric vehicles and expand on the findings through advanced fire simulations.
Develop a statistical framework for the assessment on electric vehicle fire risk through a comprehensive analysis of data.
Create a dynamic tool AI-based fire risk assessment for real-time risk assessment .
Formulate evidence-based recommendations for public policies and regulatory frameworks.
