Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero has been President of the University of Navarra from 2012 to December 2021. He is graduate and holds a PhD in Information Sciences from the University of Navarra, professor of business Informative and has directed the Master in Media Management. He has been professor of Structure of Journalistic Information and Associate Dean of the School of Social and Communication Sciences at the University of the Basque Country. In 2007 he obtained the qualification of Full Professor. Between 1996 and 2005 he was Dean of the School of Communication at the University of Navarra.

He holds a PDG from IESE at the University of Navarra and is a Visiting Fellow at the European Institute for the average(Düsseldorf, Germany). He has also been Visiting Professorat the University of Manchester (1990-1992) and at Northwestern University in Chicago (1996). He was the driving force behind the launch in New York of the Institute for average& Entertainment, a centre promoted by IESE and Schoolat speech. He was President of the European averageManagement Education Association (1998-2004).

From 2005 to 2007 he was the first Vice Presidentof speechInstitutional of the University of Navarra. He was Vice Presidentof International Officefrom 2007 until August 2012, when he was appointed Presidentof the University of Navarra. He currently continues to teach at Schoolof speechand to advise students.
