The Master's Degree in General Health Psychology consists of 90 credits (ECTS credit). The degree is obtained by passing 18 subjects structured in 4 modules, the external internship and the Master's Thesis.
Its duration is 18 months and requires full dedication to programs of study.

The module consists of four subjects:

Disorders and mental health: assessment and intervention (12 ECTS credit)

Cross-cutting issues in assessment and intervention (12 ECTS credit).
With the content of these two subjects, students understand the common mental health and psychological well-being problems that a general health psychologist has to deal with, as well as the main methods of assessment and intervention.

Information and research skills and methods of the general health psychologist (6 ECTS credit). Training in basic skills, with a more practical content applied to intervention.

Electives (12 ECTS credit) Offers more detailed content in specific areas of family therapy and promotion, prevention and intervention for health and psychological well-being.

This module is central to the training offered by the Master's degree, as it is a postgraduate qualification. It is planned in such a way that students apply the theory acquired and carry out a continuous self-assessment of their abilities. The internship period will allow them to progress in their training and at the end of the course, with the guidance of the tutors (at the internship centre and at the University), they will be able to draw up a balance sheet from which to focus their final period of the Master's course.
The subject involves a total of 750 hours of work for the student, which are distributed as follows:

Practical activities for students in some of the best centres in Spain.

Follow-up tutorials at the work placement centre and at the University.

The Master's students will carry out their internships under the supervision of psychologists who will be their internship tutors.

Students acquire the ability to base and improve professional practice through research. The assessment of the Master's Thesis will be carried out by means of a public defence of the work developed before a panel of judges.

In order to achieve the most complete and comprehensive training possible, the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology promotes and combines the scientific knowledge , thetheoretical-practical knowledge and professional practice.
A variety of activities are organised: lectures, specialised seminars, practical sessions, group and individual work .
Cross-cutting strategies are used: the case method, the search and analysis of scientific literature and training in intervention skills at the Simulation Centre at School.
It is of special interest that throughout the period professor, activities are organized with different professionals, with the goal to share their experiences and knowledge with the students of Master's Degree.
