Lines of research

The research activity in the doctoral program of "design environmental and technological in architecture" is grouped in the following lines:

  • design and management Environmental Architecture

  • design Technology for Architecture

The following areas and topics are specified within these lines of research:

  • Automated analysis and design of Structures.

  • Environmental sustainability in housing, industrialization and architecture.

The first area focuses its research on the development of design methods, analysis and prototyping of Structures of Building, and encompasses the following research topics:

  • Analysis and design of steel, wood and composite structural joints.

  • Automated analysis and design of Structures from Building using new technologies and 3D Web applications.

  • Computational and experimental techniques for structural design .

The second area investigates in the fields of eco-design of industrialized and sustainable enclosures, and the quantification of sustainable architecture with the following topics from research:

  • Industrialized and sustainable components for buildings.

  • Sustainable rehabilitation of buildings, neighborhoods and cities.

  • Strategies for architectural mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

  • Environmental certification. Monitoring, calibration and energy simulation of buildings.

  • Life cycle analysis and management of materials. assessment of environmental impacts.

  • Architecture for the vulnerable population. Aging. Energy poverty. Accessibility.
