Origin of the centre
A good state of health is not only achieved by treating diseases, but also by preventing them and, in this respect, per diem expenses is one of the most important non-genetic factors in the onset of age- and lifestyle-related diseases. In fact, obesity is a complex disease with a multifactorial origin, which in many cases appears as a polygenic condition affected by environmental factors, which influence the control of energy intake and/or expense .
The research center in Nutrition is based on the research developed since 1997 at department of Food Science and Physiology and financed through the special line "Nutrition, Obesity and Health" of the Plan of research of the University of Navarra (PIUNA).
issue In addition, we have extensive experience in partnership with industry, having developed a large number of projects with companies and participated in the main public-private cooperation projects at research related to food industry (PRONAOS, HIGEA, SENIFOOD, INCOMES, SATISFOOD; NUTRIPRECISION, BIOTAGUT, BIOPRO), as well as in various international projects (SEAFOODPLUS, NUGENOB, FOOD4ME, PREVIEW, SWEET).
