The Chemistry studies the composition of subject, its properties and its transformations, but what do professionals in this science do? The fields of application of Chemistry range from obtaining raw materials and transforming them into substances of interest (pigments, fibres, fertilisers, cements, etc.) to the synthesis of new molecules and the development of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, as well as a multitude of consumer products (adhesives, inks, varnishes, detergents, etc.).
Chemists also carry out food, water or soil analysis, prepare new materials of technological interest and can work in other industrial sectors such as energy and waste management or heritage conservation. A series of professionals explain this to us in the following videos, which form part of the MOOC on Didactics of Chemistry Chemistry recently developed at this University.
