Materials and Cultural Heritage (MATCH)

Research topics

-Lime mortars for various applications. Lime mortars for restoration of the Built Heritage. Lime mortars with improved resistance. Additive lime mortars.

-Polymer-modified binders: study of cement mortars and lime mortars with improved properties through the addition of different polymeric additives. design and synthesis of new additives. assessment of the behaviour in the properties of mortars.

-Cement and lime matrices with decontaminating properties. Self-cleaning mortars. Greenhouse gas detoxifiers by means of photocatalytic and CO2 retention agents. Valorisation of industrial waste.

-Retention of toxic metals in cement matrices. Use as solidification/stabilisation agents for aluminate cement. Aluminate and phosphate cements as retention agents. Leaching tests. Behaviour of matrices with added polymers to improve the retention of toxic metals Degree . Complexation.
