Be graduate university. And be motivated to be consistent in completing our questionnaires over the years.

At any time as this is a dynamic, i.e. open cohort.

In general, research is being carried out into lifestyles that can improve the health and quality of life of the population. Mainly nutritional factors, but also physical activity, smoking habits, etc., in relation to the incidence of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, cognitive impairment and other diseases.

By invitation through professional associations or university groups or by individual request, by contacting us at contact : sun@unav.es.

Participating in the project SUN involves answering questionnaires on per diem expenses and health every 2 years. The first questionnaire is the most extensive as you need to collect several lifestyle data . However, the follow-up questionnaires every two years will only take about 10 minutes to complete.

During the follow-up you may be invited to participate in a sub-study on specific topics in which you can participate on a voluntary basis without affecting your participation in the SUN.

No, participation in this study is entirely altruistic, but your partnership is invaluable. You can take great pride in contributing to the search for scientific evidence to improve the health of the population and generations to come.

The questionnaires include questions on disease incidence, medication, lifestyle, physical exercise, smoking and per diem expenses. The first questionnaire includes a food consumption frequency questionnaire which collects detailed information on foods, beverages and vitamin or mineral supplements consumed during the past year.

No. All information collected is kept confidential and the identity of participants is never shared. The collection of personal data such as postal addresses and e-mail addresses is for the sole and exclusive purpose of tracking participants.

The security of both personal data and medical data is our priority. We keep your name and address in secure files. The data provided by answering questionnaires are stored separately with an identifying issue so your medical data are never associated with a name. Researchers only have access to these data identified with a issue.

The personal data are managed by the SUN technical team, who have previously signed a confidentiality contract from data.

If you participate in any sub-study of project (diabetes, cancer, report, etc.) and you have any questions, please contact us by sending an email to sun@unav.es indicating your issue of questionnaire and the sub-study to which you belong.

By ticking "YES" in the box "I wish to receive the questionnaire by e-mail" on your page staff (once you have entered issue from questionnaire and password) you will automatically receive an e-mail instead of a letter when you have to answer one of the follow-up questionnaires. In this e-mail you will be given the passwords and link to the website with which you can access your staff page and this questionnaire.

This modality is not only a fast and convenient tool for the participants, but also avoids possible losses in the post office.

The access page is as follows (Internet Explorer works better): www.unav.es/preventiva/sun/asistente.

The Username ID you need is the issue of questionnaire and password that we indicated in the letter. Sometimes a new screen appears asking for the update of the password, please type the latter 2 times if this happens.

If you can't remember your passwords, please send us an email to sun@unav.es and we will send them to you as soon as possible.

You can rectify or change your personal data and/or contact from the following web page. The access codes you need are issue of questionnaire and password which we indicate in the letter. Sometimes a new screen appears asking for the update of the password, please, if this happens, type the latter 2 times.

You can also send us an email to sun@unav.es telling us which data you would like to change.

We anticipate that the project SUN is a long-term study deadline. Although we have found several relationships between per diem expenses and disease, it is known that some effects of lifestyle choices can take several years to manifest themselves. The project SUN started in 1999 and is growing because 90% of those recruited actively participate by answering follow-up questionnaires.

Yes, simply indicate this on section at questionnaire.

If you are a study participant or are simply interested in the project SUN and have a question that has not been answered, you can send us an email to sun@unav.es and we will respond to the best of our ability.
