Doctoral studies are designed to help students acquire the competencies and skills necessary for high-quality research and its development. The primary activity of doctoral students is research, with the goal of preparing graduates for independent work in the field of R&D+i, through the completion of an original research project in the areas of study covered by this program. To facilitate the acquisition of these competencies and skills, the doctoral program provides a series of training activities, some of which are mandatory.
At the start of their studies, each doctoral student must submit a training plan and a research plan, which outline respectively the planned training activities and research to be carried out during each year of the doctorate. The monitoring and assessment of the doctoral student is based on evaluating what has been accomplished against what was planned. The duration of doctoral studies is determined by the applicable regulations.

Student mobility in the doctoral program takes place primarily through training activities CN2, CN3 and MOV. The doctoral program actively promotes activities involving mobility, as it is a highly important component of doctoral training.
