The courses that make up this module define the subject matter of the Degree and lay the instructions for the key concepts necessary to understand the social and cultural role of audiovisual creation. It is, therefore, directly focused on the phenomenon of audiovisual creation, combining its creative nature with its epistemic, communicative, and social dimensions.

This second module places greater emphasis on the historical and cultural context necessary for understanding the expressive foundations and intellectual heritage upon which the act of audiovisual creation is built. This module features the subject Core curriculum, a set of cross-disciplinary courses included in all the “ Degrees ” at the University of Navarra (12 “ ECTS credit ” OB and 6 OP), which, through a humanistic “ Education ” grounded in anthropology and ethics, foster a spirit of solidarity as well as the “ development ” of critical thinking—enabling students to freely form their own convictions while respecting human dignity, fundamental rights, and democratic values.

This module includes courses designed to provide students with the knowledge and aesthetic-narrative references necessary for the analysis and creation of audiovisual content. It includes a subject focused on developing storytelling skills in the broadest sense, along with storytelling techniques and audiovisual analysis; another focused on understanding the historical and cultural context of audiovisual creation in film, television, and other media; and a final component consisting of seminars dedicated to viewing and discussing audiovisual works of various formats and origins, with the aim of integrating knowledge of audiovisual language and heritage with analytical and interpretive skills. 

This module equips students with the necessary skills for audiovisual creation itself, from concept development to the submission of the finished product. It includes a course on “ subject ” focused on the conception and development of scripts for audiovisual productions in various formats (fiction, documentary, entertainment, etc.) and media (film, video, TV, audio drama, multimedia); and two courses on audiovisual projects that integrate the “ development ” of practical and technical skills with professional skills in the production, direction, and editing of audiovisual works, as well as “ project management.” 

This module brings together the necessary knowledge about the economic, technological, business, and legal context in which audiovisual production takes place. It also seeks to strengthen students’ training within the framework industry by offering instruction on marketing strategies for audiovisual content, as well as professional skills related to entering the industry, forms of entrepreneurship, and executive production capabilities in the audiovisual production market.

This module lists the elective courses that allow students to freely tailor their curriculum to their academic and professional interests by choosing from a range of courses that explore areas of interest to professionals in communication and audiovisual production, such as culture, the arts, creativity, technological innovations, international politics, and fashion, among other fields of study. It is guaranteed that the elective courses offered annually will address the topics outlined above and will be sufficient to fulfill the 30 “ ECTS credit ” that students must complete between their third and fourth years.

The work fin de Degree consists of a work group or individual project involving the ideation, planning, and execution of an project audiovisual production, which serves as the point of integration and convergence of all the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired over the course of the four years. This practical module follows a logical sequence: after gaining diverse experience in creating, producing, and directing content across different genres in the previous modules, students apply this knowledge and experience to a project of greater scope and complexity, with a higher degree of autonomy.
