European Union policies on asylum and migration
The main goal of the Chairs Jean Monnet is to support university institutions in the deepening of the teaching of programs of study European within official programs of study plans, as well as to provide a more qualifiedteaching on European topics by specialists.
The Chairs Jean Monnet is awarded by the European Union and can be applied for by professors attached to universities worldwide who demonstrate a track record of excellence at research and teaching at programs of study Europeans. Professor María Teresa Gil Bazo received the Chair Jean Monnet ad personam in 2024 with the goal to research on EU policies on asylum and migration.

CONTENT OF THE RESEARCH
European Union Policies and New Pact on Asylum and Migration
This Chair will promote excellence in teaching and research on the challenges facing the EU and its Member States in relation to asylum and migration issues, with a view to enabling students to acquire competencies in this field of programs of study on the EU, so as to facilitate professional development on programs of study on the EU for the next generations, and through active partnership with relevant actors and media at local, regional, state and EU level. It will incorporate specific asylum and migration components in the Study program and conduct knowledge dissemination activities with other actors in academia and beyond.
