The Master's Degree in training Permanent in design Galenic and Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry consists of four modules with the corresponding subjects and subjects, completing a total of 120 ECTS credit (15 of theoretical classes + 105 of practices) that are developed during two years.

  • goalTo provide the student with a complete theoretical basis of each of the phases that make up the industrial-scale galenic development of a medicinal product, from its design to its manufacture.

  • Work plan: Work sessions supported by audiovisual media. student is provided with both a general bibliography and specific reviews on the topics deemed appropriate. In order for the student to actively participate in their own training, goal dedicates time to the discussion and resolution of practical cases related to the theoretical knowledge being studied, maintaining close communication between speaker and student at all times.

  • Duration: 450 hours.

Quality in the pharmaceutical industry

  • goalTo acquire the specific know-how for the development of all the stages involved in the design and manufacture of medicines in a pharmaceutical industry.

  • work: Students, divided into small groups (maximum 3 students), rotate through the four areas of pilot plant manufacturing: conventional drug manufacturing, biotech drug manufacturing, quality control and quality assurance. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate in the production and quality control of the drugs produced for Clínica Universidad de Navarra.

  • Duration: 750 hours, 25% of the total training of Master's Degree.

  • ObjectiveThe course is designed to put into practice, through real cases, the knowledge that is being acquired.

  • Plan of work: In this module the student carries out a project Technical development Galenic during the first year of Master's Degree. This project is managed by a tutor who monitors the needs and performance of the student .

    The assessment is based on the following criteria: presentation of the formulation, report, report of tutor and public defence of project. The public defence of the results obtained is carried out in English before a court appointed for this purpose.

  • Duration: 300 classroom hours, being 12.5% of the total training of Master's Degree.

Master's Thesis

 

 

  • goal: To introduce and integrate the student in the activity of a medicine manufacturing plant.

  • Work plan: During the second year of the master's degree, student carries out professional internships in the pharmaceutical industry, where students will put into practice and perfect the knowledge acquired during the first year at School. These internships are in accordance with the labour agreement of each of the pharmaceutical laboratories that offer places.
    At the end of the second year, the student must submit a report of the activities carried out. This report is supervised by the tutor assigned at business and must respect the signed confidentiality agreement. 100% of the internships managed in recent years have been remunerated.

  • Duration: 1 year of internships (with a minimum of 1,500 classroom hours).

Students complement their theoretical training internship through:

The Master's promotes and facilitates the attendance of student to the various activities programmed and taught by experts from the Pharmaceutical Industry and the Administration who come as guests to the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition.

During the first course, student makes numerous visits to pharmaceutical laboratories in different parts of Spain, where it observes in situ the theoretical/practical knowledge acquired at School.

The attendance to a congress is a unique opportunity for the student to interact with professionals linked to the pharmaceutical industry, university teaching centres or health institutions, dedicated to research activities and development galenic, manufacturing and quality control, teaching or research in the fields of Pharmaceutical Technology.
