The general objective of the OLICOL study is to evaluate the functionality of a product based on olive polyphenols on parameters related to metabolic syndrome, with special emphasis on total cholesterol levels, in subjects with overweight-obesity, compared to placebo, at goal .

In order to achieve the proposed goal , a parallel intervention study has been designed, with 2 study groups (group experimental and group control). They will be provided with dietary guidelines for healthy eating and the study product, which will consist of capsules containing olive-derived polyphenols or capsules containing placebo. Assignment to the study groups will be completely randomized.

We are looking for overweight/obese men and women aged 18 to 65 years with altered cholesterol levels (greater than or equal to 200 mg/dl) who are not taking any subject drugs or supplements to lower blood cholesterol levels.

The study will last 12 weeks and you will have to come to our facilities 3 times. During this time you will be asked to complete some questionnaires related to your physical activity, eating habits and gastrointestinal symptoms. In addition, blood samples will be taken at the initial and final visit .

The KRONODIABET Study has as goal to investigate changes in glucose levels throughout the day and their relationship with schedules (of food, physical activity, light and sleep), circadian rhythms (of the microbiota, the metabolome and oral transcriptome, hormones) and eating behavior.

We are looking for men and women between the ages of 30 and 65, non-smokers, who want to participate and meet one of the following conditions:

- People diagnosed with diabetes subject 2 and overweight/obesity.

- Healthy individuals without alterations in glycemic control and with normal weight.

Design

The study is observational, so you will not have to change your habits. During your participation, you will wear a glucose monitoring sensor (similar to an arm patch) and a circadian monitoring device (similar to a watch). In addition, you will be asked to complete some questionnaires related to eating behavior, per diem expenses and sleep.

The study has a total duration of 15 days and you will have to visit the Nutritional Intervention Unit 4 times.

During the main study visit (V2) you will be provided with the meals to be consumed and you will have a conference room to telework, use the computer, read... In addition, you will be able to leave on three occasions (with a maximum duration of 45 minutes, 1h 30 minutes and 2 hours, respectively). In this visit blood and saliva samples will be taken.

As compensation for your time and effort, if expressed in the consent form, you will be provided with a report with the following information: profile individual health, body composition, profile gut microbiota, glucose control and report sleep.

The overall aim of the COLARTIC study goal is to evaluate the effect of protein-rich bars on weight loss in overweight/obese adult men and women, with a focus on osteoarticular health.

In order to achieve the proposed goal , a 16-week intervention study has been designed, where healthy eating dietary guidelines and the study bars will be provided.

We are looking for men and women with overweight/obesity and osteoarticular complaints from 35 to 65 years old.

During the study, you will have to attend four visits, where you will be asked to complete some questionnaires related to your physical activity, eating habits, gastrointestinal symptoms and blood, urine and stool samples will be taken.

The FLORABIOTIC REINFORCEMENT study has as goal to evaluate the effect of a probiotic on the microbiota and the reduction of symptoms related to gastrointestinal discomfort.

In order to reach the proposed goal , a crossover study has been designed with a duration of 16 weeks where the volunteer will consume a probiotic as well as a placebo and will have to go to the Nutritional Intervention Unit on 5 occasions, one visit for information and 4 for intervention.


 

We are looking for men and women between 18 and 65 years old with gastrointestinal discomfort but without any diagnosed disease/alteration in the digestive tract.

The FLORABIOTIC IMMUNITARY study has as goal to evaluate the effect of the consumption of a probiotic on the composition of the microbiota related to the improvement of the immune system and inflammation in adult women and men (40-65 years old).

The study will last 6 weeks and you will have to come to our facilities three times; you will be provided with the probiotic and a report about your intestinal microbiota at the end of the study. During this time you will also be asked to complete some questionnaires related to your physical activity, eating habits, gastrointestinal symptoms, catarrhal symptoms and saliva and stool samples will be taken.

The PORTIONS - 4 study is a clinical weight loss intervention that seeks to identify the reasons why people find it difficult to put in place internship behaviors that can contribute to both an adequate weight and an optimal state of health. The final goal is to develop tools to help create and maintain healthy habits.

We are looking for volunteers with the following characteristics:

- Age between 18 and 65 years old

- Presence of overweight

- Non-smoking

- Not having followed a per diem expenses to lose or gain weight in the last 3 months

- Good general physical health

- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding

Participation will consist of following a 6-month intervention aimed at a comprehensive approach to overweight. The core of the intervention consists in the use of tools designed to serve balanced and adequately sized food portions. In addition, participants will learn:

- Simple eating and physical activity habits can have a positive effect on our weight and, above all, our health;

- Useful psychological strategies to cope with obstacles to desired habit change.

A team researcher will monitor your experience with the use of the intervention through biweekly phone calls during the 6-month period. In addition, you will be asked to attend three assessment visits at the University of Navarra (1 at baseline, 1 at 3 and 1 at 6 months after starting), lasting approximately 3 hours, aimed at assessing the effect of the intervention.

The main objective of goal is to evaluate in adults the effect on postprandial glycemia and insulinemia of eating a pasta dish made with resistant starch versus the original version.

The goal of the study is to evaluate the effect on adherence to the dietary patron saint of the traditional Mediterranean per diem expenses through the inclusion of a healthy basket with foods with a better nutritional profile , based on the Mediterranean per diem expenses in a group of boys and girls between 6 and 12 years old, who are overweight or obese.

The GLUCOCAPS study aims to study the effect of a nanoencapsulated zein product on blood glucose control.

This study aims to evaluate the impact and usability of practical dietary strategies aimed at facilitating a healthy and balanced per diem expenses .

The general goal of this project is to evaluate the health effect of a vegetable protein-based nutraceutical that also includes fiber and resistant starch.
