Connecting America through the research, the teaching and the training on architecture
The Americas Forum was born in April 2023 as a result of a relationship of partnership of several years between the Pan American Federation of Architects Associations(FPAA) and the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra.
The Forum is a agreement framework of partnership which can be easily joined by national schools, universities and other associations in the Americas that share its three objectives.
To achieve these objectives, a series of activities, courses and exhibitions will be established to enable professors, students and professionals to establish fluid and beneficial relationships for all parties and to enhance the visibility of all universities in the different participating countries.
training of professionals
Together with the architects' associations, the Foro America seeks to promote the training of professionals, adapting to the specific needs of each member country. This training can be done in person, with professors from the University of Navarra traveling to the corresponding countries; and online through training programs designed expressly on topics suggested by countries adhering to the Forum and, of course, through the completion of master's degrees at the University of Navarra.
Promotion of the research in Iberoamerican architecture
Collaborate and promote the research and the conservation of Ibero-American architecture. To this end, the realization of doctorate will be promoted for local architects without the need to interrupt their professional degree program or professor. This research is framed in the doctorate Programs of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra in Applied Creativity and in Architecture.
In this sense, architectural archives can play an important role. file General Archive of the University of Navarra is willing to collaborate with all associations and universities that wish to do so.
partnership with local universities
In order to promote research and training , universities appear as fundamental entities. The Forum seeks to establish a framework relationship and trust between universities throughout the American continent that wish to do so. To this end, several COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) exercises, trips to Europe with students, etc. will be organized annually.
