Pre(ad)diction 2023/2024
Substance use has increased over the years globally. This highlights the importance of training health professionals to develop prevention strategies for substance-related and addictive disorders.
Due to the high prevalence of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis consumption among young people and the role of the university in the training of the future leaders of society, it is essential to train to future health professionals (Pharmacy, Medicine, Psychology and Nursing) and professionals from other disciplines such as design, Journalism and Marketing, so that they are able, from their disciplines, to carry out actions to promote health. Thus, project Pre(ad)diction was born.
► 270 million people, aged 15-64, used psychoactive drugs in 2018. This represents an increase of 30% compared to 2009.
► 29% of adults in the European Union have used illegal drugs at least once in their lives.
► Some 17.1% of young people aged 15-24 years are cannabis users.
In order to give students a closer look at substance-related disorders and addictive disorders, several sessions on consumption prevention have been prepared at campus of the University of Navarra. They are open to the entire University with the goal of promote a healthy campus .

This innovation project is based on a research led by professors Idoia Pardavila, from the School of Nursing, Aitor Acilu, Amaia Zuzua, María Villanueva and Javier Antón, from the School of Architecture. Also participating are Maira Bes and Silvia Carlos (School of Pharmacy), Elena Puerta (School of Medicine), Bienvenido León and Elena Gutiérrez (School of Communication) and Laura García and Luis Eudave (School of Education and Psychology). In addition, it also has a Service-Learning approach to promote the training of student body from real experience, favoring the creation of healthy environments. For the creation of the prevention activities, the classroom Saludable de la School de Enfermería, Tantaka, la Clínica Universidad de Navarra and Antox.
In addition, from this academic year 2023/2024, the involvement of teachers has increased, being participants in this edition the Schools of Medicine, Communication, Pharmacy and Education and Psychology.
