Pre(ad)diction 2023
Substance use has increased over the years globally. This highlights the importance of training health professionals to develop prevention strategies for substance-related and addictive disorders.
The project Pre(ad)diction aims to create a collaboration multidisciplinary, between the students of the School Nursing and the Degree of design of the School of Architectureto create and develop prevention actions and interactions for one of the substance-related disorders in order to promote a culture of health care at campus. In this way, the specific knowledge on prevention of consumption is combined with the applied methods and tools of the discipline of the design of Services.
► 270 million people, aged 15-64, used psychoactive drugs in 2018. This represents an increase of 30% compared to 2009.
► 29% of adults in the European Union have used illegal drugs at least once in their lives.
In order to give students an insight into substance-related disorders and addictive disorders, three sessions on the prevention of drug use have been prepared at campus of the University of Navarra. They are open to the whole University with the goal of promote a healthy campus .

Experiences of patients with substance disorders

Attendees will participate in a roundtable about the experiences of patients with substance disorders. In it, through the testimony of two patients from association ANTOX, they will learn about the causes of substance use such as alcohol and cocaine and the treatment they underwent to stop using them.

In this second roundtable, Dr. Aubá, psychiatrist at Clínica Universidad de Navarra, and Saioa Bariáin, psychologist at association ANTOX, will talk about their professional experiences on substance disorders as well as some tips for the creation of a good prevention campaign.

Professional experiences of behavioural disorders

In this last session, ANTOX patients, accompanied by Dr. Aubá, psychiatrist at Clínica Universidad de Navarra, together with Blanca Martínez Bugarín, psychologist and manager of ANTOX's Pause program, will share with the attendees their experiences on behavioral disorders.

This innovation project is based on a research led by professors Idoia Pardavila, from School de Enfermería, Aitor Acilu and María Villanueva, from School of Architecture. In addition, it also has a approach Service-Learning promote the training of student body from real experience, favoring the creation of healthy environments. For the creation of the prevention activities, the classroom Saludable de la School de Enfermería, Tantaka, la Clínica Universidad de Navarra and Antox.
In addition, the project counts, in this second year of work, with the participation of the professors of the School of Architecture Amaia Zuazua - laboratory of creation of the accredited specialization product-, Santos Bregaña -designer- and María Duro of the School of Architecture.
