The globalization of content and audiences, as well as the proliferation of multinational communication companies, demands graduates capable of addressing international and multicultural audiences. This program is designed to prepare communication professionals with an international profile .
The Degree in Journalism + Diploma in Global Journalism, in bilingual format, is distinguished by introducing international approaches and contents in compulsory and elective subjects, by using language English for both knowledge acquisition and news production, as well as by incorporating academic and professional experiences outside campus, with trips to group and possible individual academic exchanges.
Beyond the classroom
The Diploma includes academic and professional experiences outside campus, through academic exchanges and national and international trips to institutions and media of worldwide prestige. Specifically, it includes the following experiences:
Academic stay
Minimum two weeks in a foreign university of international prestige, which is completed with media visits and sessions with experts.
European Week Abroad
A week in Brussels visiting and getting to know the main EU institutions, as well as the media, meetings with correspondents, communication and public affairs agencies, etc.
Madrid average Tour
Visit media and communication companies with international presence.
It will be mandatory to present one of the following English qualifications to attend this Program: Cambridge Advanced exam (Cambridge ESOOL Exams), level C1 of the Official School of Languages, TEFL with the following criteria: IBT (Internet-based Total with a minimum of 91 points or to have studied the last two years of high school in an International high school whose language of teaching has been English (at least 50% of the subjects).
Discover the subjects you will study
The Diploma Global Journalism will have 129 ECTS credit taught in English. Of these, 117 ECTS credit belong to Study program of Degree in Journalism but with the subjects taught in English and with a global approach . To these 117 are added 12 specific ECTS credit of Diploma: 3 ECTS credit of Communication skills for journalists, 3 ECTS credit of Effective speaking and writing, 3 ECTS credit of Key Issues in the Contemporary World and 3 ECTS credit of International Fortnight Abroad.
In some subjects taught in Spanish at Degree Journalism, Global Journalism students will be given the opportunity to choose the language (Spanish or English) in news production or practical exercises.
