Anti-smoking policy
The University of Navarra has declared its facilities, in accordance with the current rules and regulations , as a smoke-free space. Thus, within its campus ensures compliance with the current anti-smoking rules and regulations :
- Foral Law 6/2003, of February 14, 2003, on the prevention of tobacco consumption, protection of breathable air and promotion of health in relation to tobacco. According to this rules and regulations:
- Smoking is prohibited "in university centers or teaching directed to adults".
- The sale and supply of tobacco is prohibited in educational establishments throughout subject.
Following the indications of the rules and regulations, the University has signaled in all its facilities the prohibition of smoking.
- Law 42/2010, of December 30, 2010, which amends Law 28/2005, of December 26, 2005, on health measures against smoking and regulating the sale, supply, consumption and advertising of tobacco products. According to this rules and regulations, smoking is prohibited in "educational and training centers, except in the open air spaces of university centers and those exclusively dedicated to the training of adults, as long as they are not immediate accesses to the surrounding buildings or sidewalks".
In addition, the University maintains an active attitude in smoking prevention.
The problem of smoking is addressed in the medical examinations for health surveillance of professionals. Guidelines are given and medical follow-up is carried out for those who decide to give up this habit.

- training of students in the fight against smoking.
- research on smoking among college students at project SUN.
