research training and scientific for the health care of people and the environment. knowledge dissemination
1
Conduct research projects on the relationship between health and the environment.
2
Training on the One Health concept to professionals of the collaborating entities -Sanitas and University of Navarra-, as well as to the new generations, through school and university programs.
3
To disseminate, communicate and raise public awareness of the close relationship between human health and ecosystem health.
4
Apply the knowledge generated to accelerate the transformation of the health sector and society.
The current alteration of ecosystems, environmental pollution, climate change, mobility, consumption and management of resources show that the health of the planet directly affects the well-being and health of people.
It is therefore necessary to promote and promote spaces of research and knowledge dissemination between the different areas of knowledge that contribute to the care of people and the environment. Health problems and challenges are today a global issue.
The "Chair Sanitas Health and Environment" will promote multidisciplinary and appliedresearch , as well as social awareness of the concept of One Health One Health concept introduced by the WHO, which addresses the connections between human health, animal health and the environment. It aims to establish, from scientific rigor, a series of evidence and recommendations to transform the environments in which we live into healthier spaces for people, with special focus on health environments to incorporate a net zero, sustainable and biophilic vision. It will then seek to extend its application to other urban environments.

The Chair 's research projects will involve different experts from the areas of health, architecture, natural sciences and data science of the University of Navarra, generating amultidisciplinary research that integrally connects all the components of the One Health concept: ecosystem health, animal health and human health. research projects and transformation of the health sector:
Projects of research and transformation of the healthcare sector
Transforming healthcare environments. The Chair will promote projects that will accelerate the transformation of the healthcare sector by providing recommendations and actions that can be implemented in SANITAS hospitals: architectural, nature-based or equipment solutions that will significantly increase the well-being of the people who live, visit or work in these centers, while also reducing energy consumption and the emission of pollutants (GHG).
Digital Twin. Develop an innovative test model to test the findings generated by the research lines of the Chair. This will be done through a digital twin that will allow simulating different scenarios to determine the success of the implementation of measures that improve health outcomes and patient experience and the impact on the environment in which the center is located.
The Chair contemplates a training and communication plan to raise awareness of the relationship between health and the environment, according to the WHO's One Health concept. The aim is to educate new generations about this concept, making the scientific knowledge generated by the Chair available to society as a whole. Different communication actions of general impact are planned, as well as others aimed at three different target audiences: health center workers, primary and secondary school students and society in general.
They are articulated around three fundamental axes:
the publication of guides and recommendations on the concept One Health .
the knowledge dissemination of successful experiences on the development of the design net zero sustainable, biophilic and One Health.
the creation of participatory activities based on the concept of the One HealthWorkshops for health care workers; workshops for primary and secondary school students; talks for companies given by Bioma experts to disseminate the findings and evidence of Chair on the concept of One Health.
