What is this course about?

nueve-mitos-txt

The language sciences are natural allies of other human and social sciences (sociology, Philosophy , psychology or Education ), and also those responsible for the latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI) (engineering, computer science and data ). The AI era is, above all, an era of texts, which are the basis of digital culture. However, there are several “myths” or widespread beliefs about language and languages that should be closely reviewed in light of the most recent findings in linguistics and Philology , in order to better understand the role of language in today's society, and to enrich the teaching of language science at all levels. Led by linguists and philosophers of language who are experts in knowledge knowledge dissemination and social transfer , and through sessions based on real-life cases and examples, this course aims to revisit nine of these current myths about language, in order to discuss them, dispel them, or appropriately refocus them.

The course directors and speakers have consolidated experience in the knowledge dissemination of linguistics and Philosophy of the language.
